We currently have an opening for a top notch individual at our Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas for the position of Analyst, Underwriting & Reporting. The Analyst will be responsible for extraction and transformation of data for underwriting activities by utilizing various monitoring tools. Utilize various financial reporting schemas (profitability, cost, claims expense, forecasting, budgeting, performance metrics, and business drivers).

Essential Responsibilities:
·Preparation of profit and loss reporting by client specific.
·Prepare trend analysis and cost projections as requested.
·Produce reports to be used for contract negotiations and business decisions, Provider network and Managed Care customers.
·Review and prepare standard and non-standard client utilization and other analysis (calculating expected income vs. actual premiums paid, for major clients., product mix, out of pocket spend, Invoice but not Realized Claims, Loss Ratio, In/Out Network, forward looking budgets/forecast, cost drivers, and performance metrics as applicable).
· Provide analytical support to Sales, Finance, Client Management and senior management to meet financial reporting deadlines, client report requests justification for rate increases, and cost projections or budget/forecasts on an ad hoc basis.
·Develop and maintain reports for contractual obligations with Providers and/or Managed Care clients.
·Maintain a detailed understanding of the data elements, definitions and relationships used in required business analysis and report development.
·Responsible for monitoring trends, the development and supporting rationale of rates as well as RFP responses, rate development and documentation.
·Utilize various models & quantitative skills to underwrite rates coupled with justification to include an executive summary and impact financials.

·Preferred bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination or experience and education.

Experience & Background:
· One to three (3) years of accounting, finance or underwriting experience.
· Strong analytical skills, modeling, and quantitative skills.
· Cost accounting for Healthcare company preferred.
· Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.

Language Skills:
·Ability to effectively communicate with Associates at all levels in the organization.
·Strong written communication skills with the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
·Strong skills in cross functional communication.

Mathematical Skills:
·Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.

Reasoning Ability:
·Ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions independently; escalate issues appropriately.
·Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information is available.
