Ultrasound Tech w/ Medical Assistant Duties
LEVEL: 40hrs/varied shift
DESCRIPTION: Clark Physician Group/Endocrinology office is seeking qualified Ultrasound Technician.
* credentialed by the ARDMS, CCI or ARRT
* two years of full-time ultrasound experience preferred
* previous experience in Endocrinology office preferred
Contributes to the success of Clark Physician Group through exemplary customer service, excellent clinical skills and professional behavior and appearance. Performs patient assessments, acquires and analyzes data obtained using ultrasound and related diagnostic technologies, provides a summary of findings to the physician to aid in patient diagnosis and management, uses independent judgment and systematic problem solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimize patient care.
Prepares patients for physician visit by obtaining and recording vital signs, and other preliminary medical information. Assures charts are organized and completed with test results, medications and other pertinent records available for physician review. Assists physician with patient care. Stocks and prepares exam rooms assuring availability of adequate and appropriate supplies and medical equipment. Performs capillary sticks other tests/procedures as ordered by the physician and maintains supporting records. Maintains lab and other procedure areas in a clean and safe manner and according to regulatory agency guidelines. Inventories, orders and stocks clinical and drug supplies within budgetary guidelines. Monitors drug supplies and samples for expiration dates and follows disposal and security guidelines. Practices infection control following all policies and guidelines, OSHA, hazardous material work methods. Performs front office and other duties as requested. Participates in public education programs, regulatory and accrediting agency compliance preparation and other special projects. Cross trains to work in any Clark Physician Group location as needed.
