• Minimum 2 years previous railroad experience required.
• HS Diploma or equivalency certificate
• Sound basic mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Class A CDL is a requirement
• Basic working knowledge of electrical circuitry (AC and DC)
• Visual and manual dexterity to perform daily functions
• Ability to stand for long intervals on concrete, metal house floor, rail ties, ballast
• Ability to frequently reach 2 feet above shoulders, forward and lateral
• Ability to kneel or squat
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
• Ability to work in both the internal and external environment and be subject to temperature changes
• Subject to exposure to physical hazards and equipment where special training and safety considerations are required
• Subject to potential exposure to noise, vibration, moving equipment, and various environmental conditions such as slippery railroad ties, catwalks, and ballast

• Installing railroad signaling and grade crossing warning systems and devices throughout North America, in all weather conditions.
• Work schedules are subject to vary, but are normally 8 days on and 6 days off. It’s not unusual to work 10-12 hours day.
• Assist in the installation, removal, repair and maintenance of railroad signaling and grade crossing warning systems and devices.
• This position may include, but are not limited to installing, and dismantling of signal structures and components such as foundations, equipment housing, cable and switches; digs, fills holes and trenches; climbs poles and ladders; operates power/non-power hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, files, wrenches, pliers, shovels, picks, axes, cutters and sledgehammers; operates manual machinery and heavy equipment; and unreels and installs wire and cables overhead and underground.
