Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Lead

Job Description

The Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse lead will be responsible for reporting to and receiving direction from the Operations and/or Yard manager. This position will supervise and provide leadership to warehouse employees to properly coordinate shipping and receiving as well as ensuring that Company goals and objectives are achieved. This supervisor will be part of developing and implementing continuous improvement processes for all warehouse operations, including, safety, inventory, productivity, quality control customer and employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
1. Direct and coordinate shipping/receiving/warehouse operations within company policies and procedures.
2. Maintain a safe and clean warehouse.
3. Safety committee participation and promote safe behavior throughout the company.
4. Monitor and direct any personnel that may be assisting your efforts in the warehouse.
5. Take part in establishing and directing warehouse policies and procedures.
6. Achieve established warehouse production, shipping, and receiving goals, i.e. sorting, loading, baling, shearing, etc.
7. Monitor and maintain superior quality control of finished product.
8. Monitor and report quality of all raw material received.
9. Monitor all finished product inventory levels and keep management informed.
10. Attend all scheduled corporate training and meetings.
11. Assist in monitoring and maintaining all production equipment, i.e. forklifts, bobcats, shredder, balers, shears, etc.
1 2. Monitor all supply inventory levels related to warehouse operations, i.e. baling, scales, etc. and report any needs before they arise.
13. Verify and keep accurate records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
14. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming material and possibly arranging for the transportation of products.
15. Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
16. Communicate with Company representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages,
and nonconformance to specifications.
17. Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as forklifts, truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
18. Provide excellent customer service to all customers that bring material to our facility.
19. All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge required:

• Packing lists knowledge, i.e.
• Bill of lading knowledge, i.e.
• Forklift operations
• Basic math

• Forklift certification

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Exposure may involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, safety vest, hearing protectors, and steel toed work boots, with metal sole liners. As in most manufacturing jobs, the environment can be loud/noisy and dusty. Subject to regular bending, twisting, reaching, working overhead, working above ground and/or on irregular surfaces.
