School Bus Drivers
School bus drivers pick up students at stops along established routes and drop them off at school, as well as pick students up from school and drop off along established route stops.
They may also transport students and faculty to special events, such as field trips or sporting events.
School bus drivers are employed part-time during the school year (approximately 180 days) working split shifts of mornings and afternoons.
Compensation: Starting Pay: $17.50 per hour
$750 Sign on Bonus for all new hires with Current CDL & endorsements (Airbrake, Passenger, School Bus)
Pay Increase available with creditable School Bus driving experience.
School bus drivers must be attentive to traffic and weather conditions while staying on schedule and ensuring the safety of passengers. They must ensure that their bus is operating properly each day by completing pre-trip and post trip inspections.
Drivers are also responsible for maintaining a safe environment within the bus by enforcing rules of conduct and responding to emergencies. They must keep track of numerous things including the number of students transported and miles driven, which they typically report to supervisors each week.
• Class ”B” CDL or higher
• Passenger endorsement required
• School bus endorsement required
• Air Brakes endorsement required
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass DOT medical examination
• Criminal History
• 21+ years of age
(If CDL is obtained w/ air brakes no passenger or school bus, we will assist with endorsements)
If you do not have your Class “B” we will train you!
The learning permit we ask that you obtain as you look through book and are confident you know the information for test.
