RN Clinical Director - Intensive Care/Progressive Cardiac Unit

Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Critical Care Director is responsible for maintaining the efficient functioning of the Intensive Care/Progressive Cardiac Unit on a twenty-four hour basis. The Critical Care Director:
A. Coordinates patient care services provided in the Intensive Care/Progressive Cardiac Unit.
B. Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of nursing staff with a focus on promoting clinical compe-tence in the provision of critical care nursing care services.
C. Assumes responsibility for the quality of nursing care provided by theIntensive Care/Progressive Cardiac Unit including the implementation of programs to improve this quality.
D. Ensures adherence to standards in the Intensive Care/Progressive Cardiac Unit based on Hospital Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, Department of Nursing Standards, and Intensive Care/Progressive Cardiac Unit Department Standards with collab-oration with the Chief Nursing Officer in unusual situations.
A. Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
B. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice with emphasis on leadership and management experience.
C. Previous experience in emergency nursing and/or critical with certification (CEN or CCRN) preferred.
D. Current verification of competency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
