Requirements The ideal candidate for this position has graduated from an accredited RN program, has a current license as an RN in this state, and has a minimum of one year experience in the field. The following is a representative list of duties and responsibilities associated with this position: -- Visit each resident as assigned and provide nursing care as ordered during the shift -- Ensure documentation is complete and accurate prior to end of shift -- Notify physician and families of change in resident condition and implement physician's orders for nursing care -- Assist with distribution and documentation of medications in resident's charts according to established standards and regulations -- Assist with distribution and count of narcotics, maintain accurate record of narcotic inventory -- Provide information and support to resident and their families as needed -- Report on resident's care and condition as related to nursing services at shift changes; i.e. shift beginning and shift ending -- Participate in staff development programs, in-service trainings, and staff meetings -- Provide emergency care in accordance with physician orders and advanced directives -- Overall management and implementation of resident care plan -- Document in care plan resident's progress and change in condition -- Provide direction, supervision, and evaluation of Certified Nursing Assistants for care of residents assigned to them -- Provide care in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations -- Perform other duties as assigned
