The Residential Advisor position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor at Earle C. Clements Job Corps. The program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and academic training and job placement assistance to eligible youth between the ages 16-24.
Education requirementsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalency and prefer experience working with youth in a residential setting.
Some college course work is preferred.
Experience requirementsEffective verbal and written communication skills,
organizational skills, and interpersonal skills required.
QualificationsProvides safe, supportive and predictable environment in dormitory supervision of Job Corps in their daily activities, monitoring their progress in attaining performance contract goals and objectives and utilizing behavior management and intentional and consistent practices.
ResponsibilitiesConducts dormitory operations in accordance to Center operating policy and procedures and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Assist students in their academic, vocational and social development.
SkillsAssist students in development of self-management,
independent living and community living skills.
Model workplace expectations, and mentor and monitor
students in achieving the Career Success Standards
Work hoursMust be willing to work flexible shifts (mornings, afternoons, evenings)
