Press Operator
3rd Shift

Position Summary
Responsible for the coordination of print jobs for the offset press printing process. Processes runs and is responsible for all press functions.

Key Duties / Responsibilities -
Performs start up on machine as necessary. Stocks station and issues stock as needed in certain facilities. Performs adjustments, fills ink mill, inks press, makes roller adjustments as needed. Performs ink readings throughout the shift. Runs plates through plate wetter. Hangs plate on press. Prints runs. Checks quality of work. Performs shut down at end of each shift. Removes water bottle and roller guard, cleans ink fountain and rollers, blows out press and replaces roller guards, wipes down blanket, refills and replaces water bottle, cleans work station and press. Performs operator level maintenance as required. Works closely with other departments to include Bindery, Quality, Pre-press, as well as members of the Leadership team.

Performs other job duties as assigned, to include but not limited to boxer, inspector, and cutter.

Education & Knowledge Required
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience / Skills / Abilities Required
Checking - above average speed and superior accuracy. Numerical skills - above average. Reading Comprehension - average speed and above average comprehension. Spelling - average. Mechanical Reasoning – above average.

Decision Making
Prioritization and selection of jobs to maximize workflow while balancing meeting the rush and service commitments and goals.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Manufacturing. Climbing, stooping and crouching. Lifts 100 lbs Occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and
20 lbs constantly.
