We currently have an opening for a top notch individual at our Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas for the position of Payroll Manager. The Manager will be responsible to develop, build and maintain the structure, Associate support and tools required to enhance company-wide processes, systems, policies and procedures. The Manager will support HVHC goals, strategies and objectives, with an emphasis in driving best practices and process improvements for payroll compliance, reporting and processing solutions. The Manager will partner with various internal departments including human resources, accounting, operations, legal and external payroll service vendor providers to consistently deliver exceptional customer service.
1.Manage all day-to-day payroll processing, analysis and reporting in accordance with all federal, state and local tax laws, all HVHC policies and procedures and GAAP. Ensure accurate and timely payment and reporting of compensation payable to Associates. Ensure payroll tax reporting and remittance are timely and in compliance with applicable federal, state and local tax laws.
2.Develop and implement appropriate payroll related policies and procedures (both systematic and user functional) to ensure data integrity, while minimizing manual effort to ensure compliance. Ensure corporate policies are properly administered and new policies are adequately documented and communicated across all HVHC companies.
3.Responsible for understanding union contracts, incentive and benefit plans, as well as relevant Human Resource payroll-related policies in order to ensure that payments and expenses are accurate and appropriate.
4.Manage reporting of executive payroll reporting for Internal Revenue Code Section 162 and 409 compensation, gross up of other taxable compensation.
5.Partner with Payroll Tax Manager to assist with payroll tax reporting, tax processing and garnishment processing and reconciliation.
6.Manage processes to increase the efficiency of the department while maintaining an effective internal control structure, with self-audit procedures that will ensure the consistent application of payroll policies.
7.Develop a highly skilled and well-trained staff (provide appropriate training, coaching, counseling, career opportunities and performance management) to ensure the efficient and effective management of all functions, with the ability to support a rapid-growth company, always striving to “raise the bar”.
8.Assist in special projects and department initiatives as assigned. Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
· Preferred Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination or experience and education
Experience & Background:
·Three (3) plus years of payroll processing and staff management experience in a high volume, multi-state organization
·Excellent knowledge of Federal and State payroll regulations, FLSA, reconciliation of payroll accounts, garnishment processing and employment tax processing and reporting
·Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, PR software, G/L Systems, importing and report writing
·Strong customer service focus and commitment
