Position Summary: Maintenance Mechanic
Responsible for maintaining production equipment to optimize proper operation through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of machines according to safety, analytical and maintenance systems and processes to support the business goals and objectives.
To observe all safety rules/regulations and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
Working knowledge of Preventative Maintenance Program.
Maintain and repair all production equipment and facility maintenance as required.
In depth knowledge of troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Electrical experience working in a manufacturing setting working with PLC troubleshooting, control panels, AC/DC equipment, variable frequency drives and control relay systems.
Use basic shop equipment like saw, grinder, drill press, taps and dies, arbor press, etc.
Troubleshoot high-voltage equipment.
Weld using stick or gas.
Use advanced machining and fabricating shop equipment like benders, brakes, mills, lathes.
Specialized vocational training in welding, HVAC, electricity, plumbing, hydraulic systems, etc.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Train Line Mechanic personnel on setup, operation and simple maintenance procedures.
Report work orders as they are completed.
All other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager.
Must have High School education or equivalent.
2 to 5 years industrial maintenance experience.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Ability to read schematics and work with PLCs.
Ability to operate various hand and power tools.
Must have working knowledge of the National Electric Code standards.
Must have a solid work history.
Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement and Temporary Teams.
Ability to carry up to 50 pounds frequently
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
Ability to reach over head up to 50 pounds occasionally
Frequent standing and walking
Frequent bending and stooping.
Frequent stair/ladder climbing.
May handle potentially hazardous equipment or material.
