The Kroger Bakery plant is in need of Maintenance Mechanics. Our Maintenance Mechanics are a vital role within our company by performing tasks related to preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, mechanical machine repairs, building maintenance, and specific projects. You will be responsible for maintenance and repair of production, support equipment, buildings and grounds. Education requirements• High School Diploma or GED

Experience requirements• 2-4 years maintenance mechanic experience
• Industrial Electrical experience with 208/480 power and circuits
• Variable Frequency Drive experience
• Material handling equipment, conveyors, Fanuc Robots and Lantech Stretch Wrappers
• Packaging equipment including Vertical Form Fill seal, car toner and case packing equipment
• Controls and automation –Allen Bradley
• Demonstrated strong mechanical experience with drives, gear boxes, chain/sprockets, etc.
• AC/DC electrical skills and systematic problem solving experience
• Blue print reading and interpretation
• Focused on Reliability and not simple ‘fix solutions’
• Ingredient storage and transfer system experience – flour, sugar, oil systems
• Continuous improvement experience
• Computer Maintenance Management Systems utilization – entering work, completing work
• Documenting corrections taken in system
• GMP and SQF focus with desirable experience in food plant
• Capable decision maker with successful actions
• Understands change control and supports good documentation
• Prior ‘team’ environment experience

Qualifications • Proficient knowledge and ability in welding, as well as electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Strong attention to detail with high degree of accuracy and precision
• Ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision
• Self-motivated and self-directed

Responsibilities• Install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe and electrical systems in the facility
• Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facility equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness
• Complete assigned work orders
• Maintain maintenance area in a clean and orderly fashion; keep work area clean at all times
• Utilize maintenance systems as necessary to complete daily, weekly, monthly duties
• Operate material handling equipment safely
• Enter information in systems to document work order completion
• Provide support to team in the Predictive and Preventative maintenance program
• Participate and actively support all plant initiatives
• Organize and define tasks with minimal supervision
• Complete routine paperwork and data entry as required
• Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
• Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems
• Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
