2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, the leader in the home warranty industry, is seeking an Inbound Claims Specialist I for their Inbound Claims department. The Inbound Claims Specialist answers calls on claims that are already in process. The Specialist is responsible for authorizing payment on claims by researching and resolving unresolved issues with both contractors and homeowners.

Education requirementsHigh School Diploma or better.

Experience requirementsPrevious call center experience in a related field is preferred but not required.

Technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and/or home appliances or a comparable amount of experience is preferred.

QualificationsThe qualified candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.


ResponsibilitiesPerforms all the tasks necessary to review and resolve homeowner requests including research, outreach, follow up and resolution.



Researches, analyzes, and makes coverage determinations regarding warranty obligations and coverage based on written procedures for introductory trades.

Informs homeowners and contractors about coverage determinations using communication techniques showing empathy when necessary.

Defuses claim situations and professionally demonstrates including but not limited to, empathy, sensitivity and clarity to alleviate customer complaints while providing quality customer service.

Documents all interactions and decisions in a clear, concise and professionally written manner; in claim notes according to standard operating procedures.

Demonstrates a high level of urgency and responsiveness in researching and resolving homeowner and contractor inquiries.

Achieves Team Goals for attendance, productivity and quality

Provides quality customer service by handling customer escalations and defusing complicated situations, when necessary.
