Guest Service Attendants (Valet Driver & Bell person duties)

Description: At the Hilton Palacio del Rio, we believe that our guests select the Hilton Palacio because of our caring and attentive team members who are focused on providing efficient service and meaningful experiences.

From arrival to departure the Guest Services will oversee our guests experience by providing courteous and professional service during their entire stay. Escorts arriving and departing guests in a friendly, courteous manner to and from their accommodations, transporting their luggage, and handling their vehicle. Acquaints each guest with room and features and assists with room changes, reservations in hotel restaurants and or local restaurants and local attractions.

Will provide, directions, luggage storage, and opening/ closing doors for all guest arrivals/departures. Direct traffic at the hotel entrances to ensure the drive is accessible al all times and assist in directions to hotel’s parking facilities.

• Greet guests immediately with warm hospitable welcome using a clear and courteous speaking voice; retrieves guest items from cars, busses, and carts. Grasps , lifts, carries and/or loads luggage and packages onto a bell cart to transport items throughout the hotel to designated room; and navigates bell cart through public areas, guest room corridors and to elevators. Guests Services must be knowledgeable of hotel daily functions, VIPs, special events, local attractions including seasonal events ensuring guests satisfaction.

Works closely with Guest Ambassador’s and Guest Service Agents to offer a WOW, Make It Right Moment, and to make decisions immediately to solve any guest issues ensuring complete guest satisfaction before departure. Retrieve messages and communicate the content to the guests. Retrieve and log mail, small packages and facsimiles for customers as requested. •

Escorts customer to their accommodations and performs a visual inspection of the room and telephone. Noted deficiencies or any other apparent items needing attention are immediately reported to the proper department and a work ticket is placed into Synergy. • Organizes and stores luggage as necessary in designated area. • Responds immediately to customer inquiries regarding hotel features, services, and assistance. Provide clear and understandable direction to hotel facilities, restaurants, and lounges and nearby attractions. • Move from doorpost, key coordinator, driver, and bell person throughout the hotel in response to customer/ hotel needs. • Initiate request to taxi cab companies upon request by phone or curbside. • Clearly communicate guest parking procedures and applicable cost to arriving guest.

• Be able to drive all types of vehicles with either standard or automatic transmission. • Picks up and delivers guest laundry to and from guest rooms in a timely, accurate manner. • Delivers, Zipout Checkout packets, mail, packages, faxes, etc. to specific guest rooms. • Dispatch drivers to deliver requested guest vehicles • Inventory on valet cars and adjust key boards to reflect current vehicles in garage. • Forward vehicle control sheets to guest service manager’s office. • Update vehicle key rack at least one time during the shift. • Provide car counts on valet, self parking guests and employee car counts to doorperson • Cleans and polishes carts and other equipment used in the department. • Answers all desk phones and provides information as needed. • Reads and matches luggage tags, writes claim tickets and detaches portion to give to guest • Operate various office machines • Additional languages skills helpful.

• Comply with all safety Security as described by the Hilton Palacio del Rio • Attends any required meetings • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations. • Follow policies and/or procedures of Zachry Hospitality • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager

EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. No prior experience required. Prior hospitality experience preferred. CPR/First Aid training preferred As part of the Hilton Palacio del Rio’s employment process, finalist candidates will be required to complete a drug test and background check, prior to an offer being extended.
