Food Service Coordinator
Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Will facilitate the lunch and snack program and adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The Food Service Coordinator will report directly to the Personal Care Supervisor (PCA).
In this role you do not cook or prepare the food. You are responsible for plating the lunch and preparing the snacks (ie. puree, prepping fruits and vegetables.). You must be able to adhere strictly to the allergy list. You will also prepare drinks for those that require thickened drinks. All of the main meals are brought in by a catering service.
·High school diploma or equivalent.
·One year experience in food management with emphasis for special needs population preferred.
·One year experience with the Child and Adult Care Food Program preferred.
·Facilitates all aspects of the Child and Adult Care Food Program , including monthly billing, under the direct supervision of the Personal Care Supervisor.
·Oversee PCA staff while in the kitchen and communicate any issues or concerns to the PCA Supervisor as they arise.
·Train PCA staff annually on CACFP and proper food handling, storage, and disposal of food items.
·Identify and perform training to all staff on any issues or concerns pertinent to the kitchen, including diet changes on an as needed basis.
·Communicate with Program Activities Coordinator to collaborate snacks with special occasions.
·Calculate and order lunches from the caterer.
·Create a nutritional monthly snack menu with all components included.
·Prepare lunches and snacks daily and assure adherence to the scheduled time
·Attend all weekly in-services
·Identifies emergency situations and responds appropriately
