We currently have an opening for a top notch individual at our Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas for the position of Manager, Finance. The Manager will be responsible for month end close, audits, and general ledger system management. Assist developing and maintaining accounting practices and procedures to ensure accurate financial statements.
•Manage monthly, quarterly and year end close and ensure financial statements are prepared timely and accurately.
•Review and post journal entries, prepare account reconciliations, and respond to inquiries from various departments regarding financial statements and general ledgers.
•Assist with interim and annual audits.
•Supervise the accounting staff, including hiring, training, coaching, counseling and performance management.
•Assign, delegate, and coordinate the work of staff to ensure department objectives are met timely.
•Lead and participate in interactive, on-site meetings during normal business hours on a regular and predictable basis.
•Create and provide ad-hoc financial reports as assigned by the management.
•Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required and •CPA is preferred
Experience & Background:
•Three (3) plus years of experience in accounting and financial reporting
•Two (2) years supervisory experience required
•Great Plains experience preferred
·Ability to effectively communicate with Associates at all levels in the organization
·Strong written communication skills with the ability to write routine correspondence and prepare reports
•Ability to think logically in following procedures and instructions
•Ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions independently; escalate issues appropriately
•Ability to build relationships with partners across the organization.
•Strong customer service focus and commitment
•Direct, motivate, and develop staff to maximize individual contribution
•Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful, mature and flexible
•Ability to initiate immediate interaction, coordination and collaboration with Associates, team members, clients and customers
•Strong organizational/time management skills
