The Gateway Region YMCA will be on-site at various branch locations hiring on-the-spot Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm

Education requirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent

Experience requirementsExperience working with children.
At least 1 year of attending or working at Day Camp program

QualificationsMinimum of 18 years of age
Ability to relate to children, parents, branch staff members and volunteers
Become CPR/First Aid Certified within established YMCA timeline.
Complete YMCA required training within established YMCA timeline.

Must Pass Criminal History Background Check
Must Pass E-Verify Check

ResponsibilitiesFollow general direction and perform other duties as assigned of by the Y Camp Director, Program Director and/or designee.
Ensure the individual needs of the children are met for proper coordination of the program within the camp program.
Utilize solid judgment and discretionary skills as well as make independent decisions that will affect the YMCA.
Maintain positive relationships with many diverse people, including staff, parents, volunteers and program site administration and demonstrate strong public relation skills.
Ensure YMCA policies and guidelines are followed at all times.
Maintain an environment that ensures children’s safety and well being.
Model, practice and carry out the YMCA Values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith.
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that advance all areas of children’s development and learning, including social, emotional, intellectual and physical competence.
Conduct the program in accordance with YMCA goals and principles of developmentally appropriate practices.
Meet the training requirements set forth by the Association Training Model.
