An Alarm Call Center Representative (dispatcher) monitors alarms for customers located all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico. They respond via telephone to various emergency alarms (fire, burglary, medical, hold-ups etc.) as well as non-emergency alarms (power losses, low batteries, etc.) by determining if the authorities are needed and contacting other appropriate personnel. Dispatchers also act as an answering service for over 800 different alarm companies and forward those calls to appropriate personnel for those alarm companies. No telemarketing or sales are required.

Essential Functions

Creates basic data entry change requests when information is incorrect or outdated
Responsible for the timely response to intrusion alarms, opens/closes, troubles, and other various alarms.
Creates basic data entry change requests when information is incorrect or outdated
Responsible for accurate and thorough documentation of all actions relating to alarm activity and phone calls
Creates and maintains positive relationships with subscribers and alarm dealers by receiving and relaying information in a positive and professional manner
Identifies and reports conflicts with alarm procedures and subscriber notes or problems with equipment.
Responsible for knowing alarm basic procedures with a minimum of 90% accuracy (after training)
Quickly read and comprehend a variety of written instructions
Read and convey information quickly and accurately to customers, technicians, and police/fire/security agencies
Work closely with supervisors and other employees to insure accurate alarm and phone call handling
Support and foster a positive teamwork environment
Handle a minimum of 18 alarms per hour within six (6) months after being released from training
Maintain confidentiality of all subscriber or alarm company information
Remain calm and level headed in stressful situations
Ability to help maintain a professional and positive work environment by adhering to all company policies outlined in the employee handbook or handbook addendum and reporting any violations to the proper personnel
Help maintain a positive work environment by limiting the amount or topic of personal discussions while at work
Work well under close supervision and be receptive constructive criticism tactfully

Pass a pre-employment drug screening
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Have outstanding attendance and punctuality
Ability to work weekends on a regular basis (Saturday and Sunday)
Ability to become and remain licensed with Texas Private Security Board
Texas Private Security board may not issue a license to anyone arrested or convicted of a Class B misdemeanor within the last 5 years or anyone arrested or convicted of a Class A misdemeanor or Felony (within the last 20 years)
Ability to be held accountable and answerable for one's conduct
Ability to communicate orally and in writing clearly and concisely
Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a tasks and projects
Pass the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) or Security Industry Association (SIA) Central Station Operator Level One (provided by UCC)
Skills and Abilities

Type a minimum of 35 words per minute
Basic knowledge of alarm automation system (after training)
Basic ability to use e-mail and paging systems
