Ideal Candidate Profile:
Possesses 5 years of construction experience
A current Standard Building Inspector License Issued by DBPR
A current Plans Examiner License issued by DBPR
A valid Florida Driver license
Ability to communicate effectively in an oral or written environment

Working knowledge of State and local codes and laws governing building construction or mechanical, electrical, gas or plumbing system construction and installation.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical construction and maintenance
Working knowledge of inspection methods and procedures, and Working knowledge of OSHA construction site safety requirements
Knowledge of the materials and methods used in general building construction
Knowledge of the applicable building trade and of stages of construction when possible defects and violations may most easily be observed and corrected.
Some knowledge of applicable County and office policies and procedures.
Ability to read and interpret plans diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
Ability to prepare reports and maintain records.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; interpret graphs; calculate decimals and percentages; utilize algebraic and geometric principles.
Ability to use a computer and related software.
Ability to understand established building codes in the applicable trade
Ability to recognize faulty construction or hazardous conditions
Ability to read and interpret building construction plans and specifications
Ability to enforce codes and regulations firmly, tactfully and impartially
Ability to work effectively with others.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, contractors, engineers and the general public
