Windmoor Healthcare, located in Clearwater Florida is a 144-bed comprehensive behavioral health care facility that provides a wide range of inpatient and partial hospitalization programs and services.
Our facility has been providing intensive treatment of dual diagnosis issues and the comprehensive approach is highly individualized, designed to guide patients and their families through the process of intervention, assessment and treatment.
We are currently seeking a full-time Assessment and Referral Counselor to join our team. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:
The Assessment and Referral Nurse is responsible for completing assessment and admissions activities for inpatient units and works as a liaison with both the Nursing and Intake Departments. The Admissions Nurse ensures prompt responses to patient and referral needs, provides clinical assessments, assures appropriateness of risk assessments, crisis interventions and referrals to level of care. The Admissions Nurse promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Windmoor Healthcare.
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
EXPERIENCE: Prefer one (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse. Prefer six (6) months experience/knowledge of hospital admissions functions, leadership skills, crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, and crisis and behavior management. Prefer previous experience with assessment, admission and crisis interventions with a psychiatric mental health population in an inpatient setting
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida. Current CPR Certification required.
