As an Application Engineer you will provide support in the design of hardware and software application solutions and training. This position is involved in engineering, programming, commissioning and retro-commissioning projects related to our controls systems. This position is also responsible for providing support for project management, bid/proposal preparation, configuration and testing/validation. In this role you will be heavily involved working in the field with subcontractors and our customers.

Essential Functions
• Performs configuration, validation, deployment, test, and archival management of both commercially available and proprietary industrial control system software configurations
• Maintains familiarity with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airport policies, procedures and products
• Maintains familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars and understand the airfield lighting industry and product lines
• Responsible for generating software training classes for customers or internal employees
• Responsible for national and international travel at a minimum of 30-40% of the time
• Travel periods may exceed 7 days at a time

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Engineering Technology (EET) or Computer Science (CS) or Computer Engineering Technology (CET) or equivalent degree
• Two (2) to Four (4) years related experience or the equivalent combination of experience and education
• Two (2) to Four (4) years of experience working as a computer technician or related experience
• Able to design and review electrical wiring diagrams and 1-line diagrams
• Advanced understanding of network communications
• Advanced understanding of PLC (Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens)
• Proficient with various text editing and text comparison tools (Araxis, Winmerge, Notepad++)
• Proficient with various human machine interface systems (WinCC, FactoryTalk, Wonderware)
• Proficient with various industrial control systems (Step7, RSLogix)
• Proficient with various virtualization systems (VMWare, VirtualBox, Parallels)
• Possess Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work as a member of a diverse team
• Must be deadline driven and able to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Must maintain an insurable driving record
• Must pass any required BCI and FBI Background Check
• Fluent English (oral and written communication skills)
• Must be available to travel both domestically and internationally
