GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
Provide instruction to Community College students within the medical assisting program.
1. Effectively deliver assigned classes in accordance with College loading policy and course objectives. [Also including clinical supervision or other program-specific responsibilities]. 2. Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and other course materials. 3. Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and or other documentation as required. Maintain a safe, quality classroom or lab, including equipment, supplies, inventory, and maintenance.
A qualified faculty member teaching MEAS 219, 238, 239, and 259 meets the program standard and has a minimum of one year of directly related work experience, or meets the course standard through all three of the following criteria: 1. Possesses an earned associate degree from a regionally accredited institution, and 2. Has a minimum of one year related work experience, and 3. Possesses one of the following: Completed academic preparation appropriate to the course being taught, or Professional certification in the field. Directly related work experience includes assessment of vital signs, asepsis, sterilization, nutrition, treatment room procedures, medications, EKGs, x-ray, physical therapy, respiratory testing and other technical skills needed to assist the physician in an ambulatory care setting.
