GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
Provide instruction to Community College students within early childhood education program.
1. Effectively deliver assigned classes in accordance with College loading policy and course objectives. [Also including clinical supervision or other program-specific responsibilities]. 2. Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and other course materials. 3. Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and or other documentation as required. Maintain a safe, quality classroom or lab, including equipment, supplies, inventory, and maintenance.
A qualified faculty member in early childhood education must possess: 1. An earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in early childhood education, child development; or 2. Possess an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in family and consumer sciences, elementary education, special needs, curriculum and instruction, or administration with 18 graduate credit hours in courses closely related to early childhood education and development, with academic preparation appropriate to the course and /or specialty being taught; and 3. Possess one of the following: a) Professional certification in the field; or b) Two years of directly related work experience in the field of early childhood - birth through age 8.
